On Privacy

The Internet is really a strange place for privacy.  I don't think there truly is any privacy on the Internet.  There never was because everything we do is recorded in some log file somewhere.  If you are lucky the log files are expunged after a few months and most of what you do is forgotten.

But there is the matter of advertising.  I don't think you will find any on this site although I may try to put some up.

An advertiser may record your visit without my knowledge but if I place their ad on these pages that means they have my permission to save what data they can.  You can leave the site or browse its content knowing that someone may be recording your page clicks.  I hope that is all right with you.

And in the interest of full disclosure I have no way of affecting the ads you are shown but something called interest-based advertising may show up here.  The interest-based ads are chosen by networks that see you visiting many websites.  I think they use cookies to do this.

You have the right to opt out of the interest-based advertising but all that does is turn down the creepy factor a little.  The networks cannot remember what you have looked at before.

You have to find each network's opt-out page so that is kind of frustrating.
